The first day of the DARPA Robotics Challenge is off to a great start.
The first day saw the apparently aptly-named team SCHAFT, from Japan, take the lead with an unofficial 18 points as of 4:20 this afternoon. That’s a full five points ahead of second placer MIT. Some teams haven’t scored any points at all yet.
Check out this video Mark Greene and I shot and Mark put together just now with highlights and interviews: http://youtu.be/1lIYteyhMBs.
I’ve been busy. Besides working video with Marc I also had a sit-down with DARPA director Arati Prabhakar and cranked out a photo story for Gizmodo: http://gizmodo.com/on-site-at-the-machine-olympics-of-darpas-robotics-cha-1487282165.
Watch this space tomorrow for more video from me and Mark and another Gizmodo story.
